Choose Malabrigo colors
Share
We regularly receive questions and comments from customers that it is very difficult to choose between the many Malabrigo colors. We certainly understand that and we try to provide some tips and suggestions to help you.
Do these colors go together?
Are you unsure about a color combination? Send us an email or message via the chat button and we will provide you with a photo of the chosen wool next to each other.
Does the color of the wool match what I see on the screen?
The colour you see depends on your screen settings. If in doubt, you can always ask for a photo, but some colours are very difficult to photograph, especially fluorescent or bright colours. Malabrigo wool is hand-dyed in kettles, so there may be a difference in colour with each delivery. The shade remains the same, but with multi-colours, such as Arco Iris, Liquidambar, Aniversario, the ratio of the colours may differ. For example, purple may dominate one time and green the next. If you don't like surprises, ask us for a photo before you order a multi-colour, that will prevent disappointment.
What does the wool look like knitted?
On the page of the wool we always try to put a number of pictures of knitted models. But we can't put a picture of every color. But don't worry, if you want to see a color knitted, you can always look on Ravelry . Ravelry is a website with knitting patterns and craft projects from people all over the world. So there is always someone who has already knitted something in your chosen color. Registering on Ravelry is free and below we explain step-by-step how you can find an example in your color.
Step 1: Join Ravelry for free
Go to https://www.ravelry.com/
If you are not yet registered on Ravelry, choose 'Sign up' and enter your email address. You will then receive a link to confirm your address. Furthermore, you will never receive unsolicited emails from Ravelry and no one can see your email address.
Step 2: Log in to Raverly
Visit https://www.ravelry.com/
Enter your chosen username and password
Step 3: Choose wool
On the Ravelry homepage, select 'Yarns' at the top left.
In the search box, type the name of the wool, for example Malabrigo Rios. Then click on the magnifying glass.
Then the search results appear on the screen. You then click on the wool you are looking for, here Rios. Then you come to the product page of Rios wool.
Step 4: Choose a color
You are now on the product page of RIOS wool. At the top you see different tabs, click on the tab 'Colorways'.
Suppose you want to see how the (multi)color 'Archangel' looks knitted or crocheted.
Then you look for the color in the list (there are several pages so you may have to click the 'next' button at the bottom first to go to the next page)
Below the name of the color, click on the number that says 'projects'.
Done! You can now see thousands of projects knitted and crocheted, with Malabrigo Rios in color Archangel. If you want, you can also filter on the left so that you only see knitted pieces or only crocheted ones. By viewing these projects you will already get a better idea of what the wool looks like.
